Frequently Asked Questions

What can I expect in the first session?

Your first session is a chance for us to get to know each other. We’ll talk about what brings you to therapy, your goals, and what you hope to gain from our work together. The first few sessions are also a time to notice how the fit feels—because therapy works best when you feel comfortable and supported.

How long will therapy take?

Every person’s journey is unique. Some clients come for short-term support (a few months), while others find ongoing therapy helpful over a longer period. Together, we’ll decide what pace and timeline feels right for you.

Do I have to do art therapy?

Not at all! While I’m a Registered Art Therapist, art is always optional. Some clients find creative expression very healing, but others prefer talk therapy. We’ll use the approach that best supports your needs and comfort.

Do you offer telehealth?

Yes—my practice is 100% telehealth for clients in Nevada. Online therapy allows you to receive support from the comfort of your own space, without the stress of commuting or time away from your day. All you need is a private space and a reliable internet connection.

How do I know if we’re the right fit?

The connection between therapist and client is one of the most important parts of therapy. By our third session, I like to check in together about how it feels to work with me. This helps us reflect on what’s working and make sure you’re getting the support you need. If it ever doesn’t feel like the right fit, I’ll support you in finding someone who is—because your healing is the priority.

Do you work with parents of teens?

Yes. When I work with adolescents, I often collaborate with parents to support healthy family dynamics. I also provide therapy for parents navigating stress, communication challenges, or co-parenting.

What if I’m nervous about starting therapy?

That’s completely normal. Reaching out can feel scary, but it’s also a brave first step. Therapy is not about being “fixed”—it’s about having a safe space where you are fully seen, supported, and able to explore new ways of healing and growth.

What are your fees?

My session rates are listed on the Fees page. I believe therapy is an investment in yourself, and I’m happy to discuss frequency, scheduling, or treatment options that fit your needs and resources.

What if I need to cancel or reschedule my session?

I understand that life can be unpredictable and things sometimes come up. If you need to cancel or reschedule, please provide at least 48 hours’ notice. This allows time for your appointment slot to be offered to another client. Sessions canceled, rescheduled, or missed with less than 48 hours’ notice are charged the full session fee, except in cases of emergency or illness. This policy helps keep consistency in the therapy process and honors both our time and commitment to the work.

Do I have the right to a Good Faith Estimate?

Yes. Under federal law (the No Surprises Act), you have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate explaining how much your mental health care will cost. Health care providers are required to give clients who don’t have insurance—or who choose not to use insurance—an estimate of expected charges for services. You have the right to request a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency services. This includes all related fees or costs for your sessions. Your therapist will provide a written Good Faith Estimate at least one business day before your scheduled service, or upon request at any time. If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you may dispute the charge. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate for your records. For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call 702-830-7629.
